Good Morning,
Thank you to the students who came
to Marvin's aide last week. After a lengthy ER visit, I can report mostly good
news. The CT was clear, as were X-rays of the knee, wrist and hand - all sore
spots after the fall. As you suspected, the most serious injury was the
laceration on the right hand. It will require microsurgery this week to attend
to the nerves that were damaged.
By Friday evening, Marvin was home, resting and watching
TV, not even needing pain medication! Even the bump on the head was receding.
As we recounted the story to others this weekend, our favorite part to tell is
that 5 students took action to help!! That's impressive. We don't often hear
the good that comes from teens ~ so this is truly
heartwarming.
Thank you again for responding to the situation yourself
and assisting in the excellent care Marvin received. I also appreciate your
taking the time to talk with me and explain the events as you saw them. Marvin
was certainly lucky to take his spill near your
school!
We expect an excellent recovery from surgery and he'll
be out walking again soon.
Best,
Jane Bielke-Loll

(209) 814-2500 Please, everyone - put this number in your phone as a
"plan B" for all school days, not just holidays.
Reminder: I am not asking anymore....remember the biggest rule for the internship portion of this program...DO NOT make your own arrangements regarding attendance, location and/or site schedules without calling me first and talking to me about it. There are discussions and schedules already in place and I have had too many instances where the supervisor says...."Did you know that your student is on a new schedule now?" Did you know that your student did not come in today?" - If I have to say "no" to either question - there will be consequences. Enough already - too many problems in the past two weeks. Do not decide, on your own, that you have "done enough hours" and not go to site. Go Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday unless you have cleared it with me. Do a teacher a favor and respect me as I respect you - ANTICIPATE THE NEED!!!!!
DHS: Minimum day on Friday,
3/29 - You may go to site. If you are not going to site, notify me and your
supervisor.
See you tomorrow!
Mrs. Erceg
