Homework: Please continue to work on the handout I gave you today. (Elise and Danielle Pn, I have students brining this to you. Logan, Tommy and Jennifer M., see me Friday at lunch) This will be due, completed on the handout or separate piece of paper attached, on WED. FEB. 13th.
Here is an example of how to do this:
(gland) aden/o/pathy disease of a gland
\ \ \
def of medical word definition of medical word
word root
And.......add two or three questions to your hw from last week - what questions do you ask the employer at the end of the interview????
IRENE, ASHLEIGH, KEANDRA, MANELYN, JESMALAINE AND DESTINY:
Please call or text me tomorrow to update me on teacher and parent authorizations for you to volunteer at Arbor Vista on Friday, 2/1, leaving at 8:30 from P1, returning at 12:15 for lunch.
KAISER LIVERMORE: You may wear a professional looking red shirt or sweater with black or khaki pants on Friday to support the "Go Red" campaign. Alyssa and Lauren B. have been working on this at Kaiser and they even got published in the newsletter. They wrote an article about this cause. Good job girls! (Don't forget to wear your badge!!!) - that goes for everyone in Med Occs!
GHS: CAHSEE Testing 2/5 and 2/6 - your attendance is required for P2 on Tuesday, 2/5 at 12:35 until 1:45. Even though you not required to be at school on the morning of 2/5, I recommend you attend site in that morning as you would any other Tuesday. Some of you have the opportunity to go in early in the morning, perhaps to observe procedures. Not attending can be another setback if you are short on hours, so consider putting in 2-3 hours that morning. On Wednesday, 2/6, GHS students meet with me at 11:40 as per the schedule. Again, you may attend site if you have your manager/supervisor's permission to do so that morning. More CC hours for you! PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDAR AND TALK TO YOUR SITE in advance and make arrangements for Wednesday morning if you plan to attend.
LHS: CAHSEE Testing 2/5 and 2/6 -
No ROP (LHS) Tuesday 2/5. If you plan to make arrangements to work at your site Tuesday
2/6 in the morning...INFORM ME FIRST, then proceed. I have morning students at
several of the sites.
WED 2/6: Arrive at ROP at 1:00 (CORRECTION).
CC HOURS: Please keep track of hours. You should have close to 80 by now. By the way, please note that any reduction of site time is not allowed without prior approval. Some students in the past have made a unilateral decision to cut back on CC hours because they feel they are ahead on hours. This is not acceptable. Continue to work at site no matter how many hours you have accumulated, and keep to your schedule.
MEDICAL MEETING FOR MORE CC HOURS: Meeting on osteoporosis 2/7. - ValleyCare Medical Plaza,(not at the hospital this time) 5725 W. Las Positas, Conf. Room 2 and 3. Corner of West Las Positas and Stoneridge. Meeting begins at 4:00 p.m. and ends at 6:00 p.m. Take notes and bring them to me. I will award 2:30 CC hours and a portfolio certificate! No registration is needed.
Take care and have a great evening.
Mrs. Erceg
