Hi Everyone,
Keep up the good work!!! I received more compliments about your motivation and commitment to the program, as well as the excellent patient care you provide.
Tomorrow Night: Medical Explorers - Topic is Labor and Delivery. 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
(please arrive early). Please sign in - Ashleigh from the a.m. class has the sign in sheet.
By the way, if you are planning to become an RN - look up NCLEX and TEAS testing. Medical school? - look up MCAT testing and the study materials that are available. These are tests you must pass to move forward with your education.
GHS: CAHSEE Testing 2/5 and 2/6 - Sorry, I wish I could give
you the afternoon off....but your attendance is required for P2 on
Tuesday, 2/5 at 12:35 until 1:45. Even though you not required to be at school
on the morning of 2/5, I recommend you attend site in that morning as you would
any other Tuesday. Some of you have the opportunity to go in early in the
morning, perhaps to observe procedures. Not attending can be another setback if
you are short on hours, so consider putting in 2-3 hours that morning. On
Wednesday, 2/6, GHS students meet with me at 11:40 as per the schedule.
Again, you may attend site if you have your manager/supervisor's permission to
do so that morning. More CC hours for you! PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDAR AND
TALK TO YOUR SITE in advance and make arrangements for Wednesday morning if you
plan to attend.
CC HOURS: By the end of
January, you should have 60-70 hours. (80 is the plan by 1/31/13). Please check the
posting of hours and do the math...are you on course to meet the 180 hour
requirement?
All schools: Make sure you inform
me of ANY site attendance changes due to tardy, absence or testing
schedules.
HOMEWORK DUE 1/30: Don't show up
empty-handed.
Use this letter (sample below) as your guide and
type a new one up as if you are actually sending it to your current
internship site to apply for a job. (sample for portfolio only). Print it out
and bring it in next Wednesday. 50 Points

letter, go to: http://campusapps2.fullerton.edu/Career/students/jobSearch/Chapter7/SampleInformationalInterview.aspx

Job Descriptions: Did you attach one to your training
plan? If not.....do so and show it to me next week on 1/30. I want to go over
these with you. I have some training plans that were supposed to be handed out
in the PM class. I will give those to you Wednesday. Do you need help finding
a job description on line? Contact me so I can help.
CMA Exam Study

GHS Blood Drive, Wed. 1/30. Be prepared if you are
donating blood. Hydration, nutrition, rest. Contact Ms. Miller if you are ill.
It may prevent you from donating. Thank you. Be sure to tell me that you
donated so I can prepare a certificate for your portfolio.
Have a great evening.
